HOW MANY JOBS WOULD THERE BE? WHO WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR THESE JOBS?
The size of the workforce would vary depending on the phase of the project. The workforce in the exploration phase ranged from 24 people during winters to a high of 240 workers. Just as it is now, a shareholder hire program would be in place to recruit and train Calista region shareholders and their heirs for jobs at the mine. Today more than 90% of the employees at Donlin Creek are shareholders, including nine of the 10 supervisors.
